Without question, Thanksgiving is absolutely my: FAVORITE HOLIDAY! It’s all about spending time with family and friends, great food, cheering on our favorite football teams…its a special time of year. It’s about bringing people together around a table and enjoying each others company, preparing a special meal, celebrating traditions and making new ones along the way. It’s a wonderful time of year when we unknowingly are weaving together memories that will last a lifetime. Its a beautiful thing.
Last year I had over 100 people that emailed, called and texted, all of whom asked me to share some of my favorite holiday recipes on my blog. Most of us have similar holiday menus that our families pass down from generation: turkey, stuffing, green bean casseroles, veggie sides and pecan pie. However (it happens) we occasionally get bored and want to change things up!!! Now as much I love cooking…I am not a professional and my culinary skills are limited. I didn’t feel equipped to supply a meal worth of recipes to help spruce up the holiday menus of my readers…however, being a food blogger I know a few people around town that could help me!!!
I asked 8 local chefs to help me put together a blog series featuring a classic holiday dish or item and putting a fun twist on it that is approachable for food lovers to make and enjoy at home! I have sampled (feasted) on each one of these dishes and they are amazing! I was blown away and can’t wait to incorporate some of these great new recipes into my holiday meals this year and for years to come. The series consists of: 1 new recipe being featured and posted on my blog each day for the next week with pictures and a few fun snipits about the chef who made the dish. Also as a fun twist to this series I asked a friend of mine (who happens to be the most badass mixologist in Charleston) to create a special holiday inspired cocktail for the project!!! Heres what you can look forward to:

- Andy McLeod (Executive Chef at: The Lot)
