Teddy Nixon/bar manager/ Instagram tnix422 / Facebook.com/tnix22
How did you get started?
I started in restaurants when I was 14 washing dishes.
What or who influenced you the most as you were developing your craft?
I’m not sure if it was one person in particular that influenced me. I like to think I’ve learned something, whether it be good or bad, from everyone I’ve worked with in the past. Too many people to list but a few who come to mind… Jen Luckraft and Gary Schied taught me speed, and how to be a personality behind the bar back on Cape Cod. As far as cocktail knowledge.. A.j Bruno, Micheal Speigal, and Jayce Mcconnell were big influences.
Why do you love your job?
I love taking care of people, it’s in my nature. My job gives me the ability to do that every day. Everyday I’m basically throwing a party that everyone is invited to… It could be a lot worse ?
What inspires you?
People inspire me. Music inspires me. Fresh and unfamiliar ingredients inspire me. Unique spirits inspire me. Nature inspires me. Most importantly my family inspires me.

When I first left Cape Cod for the west coast I was a big fish in a little pond, and thought I knew everything. California put me in my place very quickly and it was hard to take. Gained a lot of perspective and put me in my place very quickly.
