How did you get started?
I’m a natural-born competitor and life-long athlete. In a quest to be in the best shape of my life before my 30th birthday, I decided to begin training and dieting to compete in a NPC Figure Competition. After my first one, I was hooked. I’m now in my fourth competition season preparing to step on stage for my 8th show, Jr. USA National Championship, in May.
What or who influenced you the most as you were developing your craft?
I’m definitely self-driven to always beat my best self on stage. However, I was first inspired by 2X Ms. Figure Olympia Erin Stern. I used to watch her workout and posing videos everyday on YouTube to perfect my technique.
Why do you love your job hobby?
Choosing to live a healthy lifestyle takes a lot of time, planning and effort. But I love doing it because it makes me feel good! I’m never sick, I’m full of energy and most importantly, I’m doing things to benefit my overall wellbeing – mind, body and soul.
What inspires you?
Inspiring others to make healthy choices and live an active lifestyle inspires me to keep going. When people say they made one of my blog recipes or tried a workout I posted that fuels me to keep going. If feels good to know that I am making a difference in someone’s life.

(Fill in the blank) I appreciate _______ in my life, because _______.
I appreciate Charleston in my life, because the city has given me more experiences and opportunities than I had ever imagined.
What was one of the hardest lessons or toughest obstacles you had to overcome?
Self doubt. Our egos are powerful and have so much influence over our actions. But I’ve learned that if you believe you can achieve something and work hard for it, that goal can be obtained – no matter how many times your mind tries to tell you it can’t.
Advice for someone who is looking to begin a new hobby/job/life pursuit:
Research and learn as much as you can about the subject. Get in the trenches and start from the bottom. You can never know it all from the beginning.
Something your followers would be surprised to learn about you:
Everyone asks me first off, “How much can you bench press.” But, I actually don’t bench press when I workout, that is a dude thing.
